RESEARCH-LTT Collaborative Research Receives AIA Award

Rachel DeLozier (Honors/Art History/Classics, B.A. 2014) and Eleni Hasaki (Associate Professor, School of Anthropology and Classics Department) received the Best Poster Award at the 116th Annual Meetings of the Archaeological Institute of America (AIA), held at New Orleans (8-11 January 2015). The poster was titled “Bronze Age Terracotta Statues of Ayia Irini, Kea: An Experimental Reconstruction and Technical Examination.” It featured results from an experimental project conducted in conjunction with the Laboratory for Traditional Technology and with the UA Ceramics Program (Prof. A. Chabot), as well as museum research on the Cycladic island of Kea. The award-winning poster will soon be displayed at the Haury building and will be included in the AIA’s Awards website.
