About:

"Long ago, I worked for a ceramic manufacturer that created glazes and molds for hobbyists or ceramic studios. While pursuing my associate's degree in art at Pima Community College, I took a pottery class, and all that previous experience came back. Now, I am intrigued by hand-building and wheel-throwing, skills I am still working to improve. I am intrigued that the methods of creating vessels seem quite similar in the Mediterranean as it does in Mesoamerica. For now, I would like to work on mimicking the pottery techniques and work on the iron oxide decorations. I enjoy the people I have met through the ceramics lab and the diversity of studies that the people in the lab are pursuing. This is my Happy Place."

About:

"I've always enjoyed art and learning about how pieces of art (especially functional art, like clothing!) were made without modern technology and knowledge. I was able to learn about these processes and try them out for myself through open hours and workshops held at the LTT. Aside from that, learning to work with clay has been such a great experience. I really appreciate the ability to play around with this new (to me) medium of art and learn some new skills!"
