OUTREACH-LTT Open House for Friends of Anthropology Celebration (Fall 2016)

LTT once again hosted an open house in conjunction with the Fall 2016 Friends of Anthropology Celebration. LTT Ceramics Resident Potter Cynthia Jones and LTT intern Luke Kaiser shared with the visitors the different ceramics projects taking place in the LTT. During the open house, we were honored to interact with Dr. Entisar "Vivi" Sabbagh, recipient of the 2016 Ray Thompson Award.

Dr. Entisar Sabbagh and her husband Mr. Adib Sabbagh are the sponsors of the Sabbagh Lectures at the School of Anthropology.

Luke Kaiser, along with other Classics graduate students, worked for an entire year on learning forming techniques with Cynthia Jones and fired his vessels both in the electric kiln of the lab and in a trash-can firing to simulate ancient techniques.
